How Do You Get The Piano Out Of My House?
The piano is placed on a specialised piano moving trolley, Wrapped with blankets and strapped securely, Then wheeled out without damaging either your piano or any flooring. We attend a lot of moves where the customer advises that the last people just dragged the piano into the house – This causes damage to both the instrument and your home, Make sure your mover has full equipment.
Do you remove the legs and pedals for a baby grand piano?
Yes !! We see lots of attempts to move them with legs and pedals on but this just damages your piano. We remove legs and pedals and move the piano all wrapped up on out long piano board.
How do you get the piano into your van ?
We use ramps to get the piano into our van, tail lifts are not strong enough for the heavier end of piano moving & we feel ramps are much safer generally, For the big instruments we do have a custom installed winch to aid the process of getting up our ramp.
Do you store pianos?
Yes we certainly do ! whether its going to be for a few days while you have decorators or carpet fitter in your house or longer term just give us a call and we can arrange collection and storage at great rates.
Can you move a piano from one room to another for carpet fitting or decoration?
Yes we can, We can also blanket and shrink-wrap and move to a different room, Then relocate it when the works have been finished. This stops any dust from building works getting into your piano.
Can you dispose of unwanted or broken pianos ?
Yes we are fully licensed to dispose of unwanted pianos, We have a registration with the Environments agency – A waste transfer notice will be issued with every piano that is collected for disposal.
What happens to unwanted or broken pianos do they go to landfill ?
Unwanted pianos are usually rehomed, We work with a few music schools and charities that are teaching kids to play & if the piano is tuneable this is usually the best way forward as someone else will get use out of it.
Unfortunately some pianos are beyond economical repair but they can be upcycled into items such as writing desks, jukeboxes or bars !
We do everything we can to avoid taking a great instrument to landfill.
Do you offer piano tuning?
No, we don’t tune piano’s but we can recommend a good tuner.
